Overview
KEY WEST, FL | Seasonal Live-In Nanny | Late Dec/Early Jan through Late May 2027
A warm, close-knit family is seeking an experienced, energetic, and engaging Seasonal Live-In Nanny to care for their young daughter from late December/early January through the last week of May 2027! This is a seasonal opportunity with a set end date, offering the chance to spend several months in beautiful Key West, Florida! The family embraces a relaxed, traditional, and family-centered lifestyle, prioritizing quality time together, outdoor activities, music, and wholesome living. Located in the heart of Old Town, just two blocks from Duval Street, their home offers the perfect blend of laid-back island living and an active, social atmosphere. Both parents are home during the day, with Dad working from home part-time, and they frequently welcome close friends and extended family into their home.
Their daughter is a happy, curious, and increasingly mobile little one who loves exploring, playing, and especially MUSIC! The family enjoys everything from country music and Kenny Chesney to reggae, with music frequently playing throughout the home, and they would love to find someone who shares that enthusiasm! The ideal candidate will be confident, outgoing, intuitive, positive, and exceptionally hands-on, with a genuine passion for early childhood development and the ability to create engaging, age-appropriate learning opportunities through play, music, movement, and exploration. Someone who loves singing, dancing, spending time outdoors, enjoying beach days, and keeping up with an active toddler will thrive in this position. Musical ability is a wonderful plus, as is experience teaching and reinforcing toddler sign language. The family also appreciates someone who is comfortable utilizing technology and AI tools to research and develop creative, educational activities. Above all, they are seeking a nanny who is safety-conscious, dependable, resourceful, and proactive, with excellent common sense and the ability to anticipate needs while respecting the parents' preferences and established parenting philosophy.
A collaborative, adaptable individual who understands the importance of following the parents' lead while confidently taking initiative will be an excellent fit. Responsibilities will primarily focus on attentive, developmentally appropriate childcare, along with child-related housekeeping, light household assistance, simple meal preparation, and occasional family-related tasks. The schedule will not exceed 40 hours or five days per week, with occasional flexibility appreciated. Days off are typically split but may be scheduled consecutively with advance planning and mutual agreement.
This is a live-in position, and the nanny will enjoy a private studio casita on the property, with restroom facilities in the main house and access to outdoor and guest showers, as well as the family's beautiful heated swimming pool. Please note that the child is only permitted in the backyard and pool area when accompanied by a parent. The family's home is conveniently located in walkable Old Town, and a personal vehicle is not necessary. Access to the family's Lyft, DoorDash, and Instacart accounts will be provided for transportation, meals, and groceries at the family's discretion. The family encourages their nanny to enjoy everything Key West has to offer during personal time, from exploring the island to relaxing in the backyard among the palm trees, hammocks, and lounge chairs.
Candidates who appreciate a casual, welcoming, and social household environment, maintain an active and wellness-oriented lifestyle, and share an appreciation for family-centered values are especially encouraged to apply. Compensation is $30–$40+/hour gross via payroll, depending on experience, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated professional seeking a rewarding seasonal position with a welcoming family in one of Florida's most beautiful coastal communities!
